At SaltStack, we believe access to technology and education should only be limited by an individual’s imagination—not by the bias of others. Real progress in IT is only possible with the inclusion of diverse thinking, opinions, and viewpoints. To that end, we’re proud to offer two different SaltConf18 scholarships to help historically underrepresented individuals engage with, be empowered by, and inform more efficient IT.
Our SaltConf18 Diversity Scholarships aim to eliminate financial barriers that may keep these attendees from joining the fifth annual SaltStack user conference. These scholarships will help cover some or all of the cost of attendance for qualified attendees and speakers.
All applicants must be from a traditionally underrepresented group in the tech sector. Examples include but are not limited to LGBTQ+ individuals, women, people of color, and individuals with disabilities.
- Speakers – The SaltConf18 call for speakers diversity scholarship is open through Friday, June 1. Accepted speakers will receive a complimentary SaltConf18 full conference pass (main conference and pre-conference training, if desired), complimentary lodging, and consideration for airfare. All talk submissions are subject to review and acceptance by the SaltConf18 content committee.
- Attendees – If you would rather not give a presentation, but would like to attend SaltConf18 to learn and to network, please let us know. Apply for a SaltConf18 scholarship that can include both complimentary main conference and pre-conference training registration. Sponsorships are limited and will be granted based on availability, need, and timeliness of application.
*SaltStack can only offer a limited number of scholarships and we ask all applicants consider their ability to fund their own attendance as compared to others who may not have access to similar resources or funds.
